Introducing A New Member to the Fastroi Team

Any small company that takes the decision to expand their business beyond their established domestic markets will be faced with the question of how quickly do they increase their headcount. After several years preparing the ground, Fastroi recently recruited our first sales person in the UK.

Mike Richards joined Fastroi UK in April as our UK Sales Manager and we would like to take this opportunity to both welcome him and introduce him to you.

From Care Homes to Software

We were impressed with Mike’s credentials, as he comes to us from spending the last 10 years as part of his wife’s family care business where they own and run 4 care homes and a home care business in the York area of England. Before joining the family business in 2008 he worked as an IT manager for a large insurance company. It was this combination of IT skills and home care experience that set him above the competition.

When Mike first joined his family business as Director of the home care business, his first job was to implement a basic care management system. Back in 2008, the level of functionality and integration in digital solutions was not as great as it is now, but that didn’t make his first task any easier as the unread 600 page manual dropped onto his desk. The challenge he faced, was to introduce the system to the home care team in a way that they were comfortable with, while at the same time, maximising the software’s functions.

A Good Skill Set

This combination of IT knowledge and experience within the home care environment was one of the key reasons for choosing the decision to bring Mike on board. This experience has already proved its worth, as we have learnt plenty from him in the six months since he joined us.

When he’s not working, Mike lives with his wife and two children in Yorkshire, where he enjoys brewing his own beer and slow cooking and smoking food on the barbeque. He also enjoys horse racing and like most Yorkshiremen, he loves the Cricket!

As we grow the business in the UK, Mike’s experience will be crucial to us as we implement RTC™ into more and more places. Mike’s role will be to raise awareness of Fastroi in the UK, find new opportunities and open the UK sales channel.
