“By using Fastroi RTC DayCare, the use need for processing paper forms has now stopped. Therefore, early childhood workers can now concentrate on the most important thing – having more time for the main caring work.”

City of Vantaa
The City of Vantaa Department of Education’s early childhood department, had a need for an electronic solution for work shift planning and follow-up ,as well as recording children’s daily care times. Fastroi Real-time CareTM DayCare system has reduced paper work in different locations and freed up time for actual caring for children.
Vantaa had a public tender for a complete mobile application, one part of which was the Early Childhood Education system. The main selection criteria were quality and price. The City of Vantaa Information Management department’s ICT Project Manager Isto Rantaniemi says “Fastroi Oy, who also provides early childhood ERP systems, won the tender”.
The system pilot phase began in the autumn of 2014. A 16-week, one-period shift-long pilot phase was attended by about 20 childminders with their supervisors. After the pilot phase, in the spring of 2015, the system was introduced to the 75 Vantaa family day care workers of the city as well as their managers in the day-care centers.
The system functionality was expanded at the end of 2015 to the daycare side, where during 2016 it was widely implemented throughout the system. The final expansion step will be carried out in the spring of 2017, after which FastROI’s RTC Day Care will be used in all early childhood education units in Vantaa.
By using Fastroi RTC DayCare, the use need for processing paper forms has now stopped. Therefore, early childhood workers can now concentrate on the most important thing – having more time for the main caring work. Feedback from the nurses has been good. The software is easy to use and it has been helpful in their daily work. The delivery stage of the project is now complete , and the application will be maintained and further developed. The customer wishes are taking into account as the care environment develops, for example the changing requirements of the laws of the early childhood sector.
The software project achieved its targets while the implementation phase is now ongoing. The project achieved all of its targets coming in on time and on budget. Isto Rantaniemi commented that the project flowed reasonably well. The Fastroi Real-Time Care ERP system was seen as a useful purchase, and the application itself was simple and easy for everyone to use.
